I grew up, for the most part, in Summerville, South Carolina. After high school, I attended Washington University in St Louis, where I studied education while working part time in the Education Department at the St Louis Zoo. It was there that I discovered my passion for environmental education, and, after college, I moved back to South Carolina to work full time at Riverbanks Zoo & Garden. Though I loved my work with the zoo, I missed being in the classroom full time, so I started my journey back by attending The University of South Carolina for a Master's of Education in Language & Literacy with a focus in science content-based literacy. My journey then led me back to St Louis, where I taught fifth grade for two years, and then middle school science for the following three. I am very excited to be here at Colegio Panamericano, and cannot wait to discover what the 2015-2016 school year will bring.
When not teaching, I can generally be found exploring nature, traveling, reading a book, or cooking something delicious to eat.
